Here’s a quick peak into our couple’s retreat in the Cape Winelands at the Angala Boutique Hotel. This adult-only, 5 star sanctuary is located up in the mountains between Paarl and Franschhoek. An equisite destination for couples!
Eco pools and hydro wellness
A truly unique experience is time spent in their eco pool. A sparkling fresh swimming pool / ecosystem, maintained completely by nature.
Not only was it aesthetically beautiful (personally taking us back to the South American jungles or beautiful Bali), it felt healing. One can always appreciate natural remedies over chemicals. More so now than ever that I’m 28 weeks pregnant!
Just around the corner is a smaller ozonated swimming pool, a heated plunge pool, an infrared sauna and a steam room. Being huge water babies, we were loving all the options! The heated pool did wonders to our muscles!
A true sanctuary
Angala is so beautiful! It may not be “walking distance” to Franschhoek town but we loved that it was nestled away in the mountains. It was so quiet and calm. The abundant birdlife is evidence of Angala’s natural tranquility.
We stayed in one of the ‘Luxury Rooms’. The super King sized bed and outdoor shower was our favourite features! The rooms are not overly “modern” but they are luxurious and comfortable. Offering matching gowns, Nespresso machines, beautiful bathroom products and everything one would expect from a 5 star experience.
Three Course Dinner Dates
Friday night at Angala’s restaurant was a huge highlight for us! The food was outstanding and plated to perfection. Paired with local wines (and alcohol free champagne for me), the evening is well worth the extra spend above the complimentary breakfasts.
