Romantic Couple Getaway at Copia Eco Cabins
We just experienced the Copia Eco Cabins
and we have to mark it as one of the most romantic escapes in the Western Cape.
If you are that couple that loves isolation and are constantly searching for that “off the beaten track”/ “uncrowded escape”, then this is for you! You don’t even interact with any staff – you drive directly to your cabin and leave the keys there on your way out. No people, no clothes, no problems !!
There is no wifi, limited cell reception and the cabin is off grid – running on only solar electricity. The cabins are made from shipping containers and have been completely made up for a luxurious stay. We were so intrigued by the concept and it did not disappoint.
It is the go-to-place if you’re craving fresh air or the need to clear your mind and escape a stressful situation. In our case it was the perfect spot for some dedicated quality time.
We pretty much threw our bags down and climbed straight in to our own private wood-fired hot tub. From this incredibly picturesque tub – we were completely cut off from the rest of the world.
We spent the day in between the pool and the deck – taking in the incredible farmland views as the afternoon light moved its way across the valley.
We normally include a few “what to do in the area” tips in our blog posts – but honestly there’s no way you should leave here. Just stay in your little cabin bubble and forget about everything else.
The facilities are modern. Self catering wise – there is everything you may need except a microwave and oven (so pack food thats suits a fridge, stove and braai).
Which cabin to book?
At the moment there are three eco cabins (although they seem to be growing).
In our personal opinion – the Waterfall Cabin is the best. It is the most modern and has a free-standing bath tub with incredible views. Then the Copia Cabin comes in second (where we stayed), with the lower down Lone Tree Cabin close behind (just slightly closer to the farmlands below).
But how amazing is the spacing between the cabins!! So much freedom and room to breathe.
