Pomene Bay Lodge

This lodge is located between the beach and the Pomene estuary (offering the best of both worlds).

Facilities

It has a stunning pool, restaurant and bar area overlooking the estuary.

The estuary is filled with flamingos and provides stunning sunset views in the evenings. It’s not ideal for swimming unless you are happy to walk out for miles. However, the beach is just 5 minutes away on the other side of the lodge.

We spent New Year’s Eve in the bar area, which resulted in plenty Mozam rum shots and late night diving competitions in the pool!! With the exception of New Year, this resort is a very peaceful and relaxing spot, ideal for travellers who are looking for complete isolation.

The Campsite

As avid campers, we really thought this campsite was stunning! The sites are large and are not crowded. The estuary surrounds the sites and there are large trees providing shade and a selection of bird life. We would suggest bringing ground sheets to put over the sand and a hammock or two!

The Private Chalet

The second night we upgraded to a chalet, as we did not have any of our own camping gear with us. We were loafing off our friends in their two man tent. We were feeling pretty guilty as this chalet was way out of our budget, but wow was it great!! Such a spoil!!

The room had a queen bed with a mosquito net, fridge, air-con, ensuite bathroom and a balcony leading on to the estuary.

It felt like a honeymoon!!
