Hotel Airone in Venice
This 2 star guesthouse overlooks the Grand Canal, making it the perfect location for a trip to Venice. It is situated at Santa Croce 557, 30135 Venezia, which is very close to the main bridge: Ponte deli Scalzi.
It is also very close to the main stop for the direct water shuttles to San Marco.
The Room
June 2014: We booked the ‘Double Room with bath’ which came to 190.53 Euros for the 2 nights. However, we can’t guarantee that that was the room we actually slept in as there was some confusion at the reception desk. If we go again we will definitely request the one room that overlooks the canal! Our room had one double bed and one single bed (which was nice to put our bags on). It has an ensuite bathroom with a shower, a full length mirror and a safe.
Tips on how to get here:
- Air: The Venice International Airport, “Maco Polo” is 13kms away. Use the Venice Air Terminal ATVO shuttle bus nr. 5 that goes directly to Venice/ Piazzale Roma. Then you take the Santa Croce on the Grand Canal and walk to the hotel at 553.
- Train: Get off at the Santa Lucia Train Station. The hotel will be right in front of you. Just cross the bridge on your left and turn right and the hotel is 100 meters down.
